This is a row house for three-members, located in Sathupradit area, an old district and high-density residential area in Bangkok.
The building is a three-storey reinforced concrete with rooftop. First floor is a LDK space, the private rooms with common space on the second and third floor. In this building, we made a void as the core of the house in order to emphasize the living space, where the members of the building can interact and communicate with each other between floors, and also to eliminate the sense of discomfort from the narrow space by the characteristic of the row house. By this void, members of the house can also know how the outside weather changes and naturally connected to the environment.
A cell in the middle of the building is “light-duct” which its height is equal to the height of the house. This duct brings light and natural ventilation to the common areas around. In the same time, the polycarbonate surface produces interplay of sun-moon-light and shadow, by changing the appearance of the light in the building at every moment of time.
